All-on-4 Dental Implants

Dental implants are an amazing restorative treatment to replace missing teeth, but not everyone is a candidate.

Using the All-on-4 method, our skilled dentists can help patients with low jawbone density qualify

Dr. Edgar S. Pelayo and Dr. Nalleley L. Acosta in Los Algodones, Mexico, can help you restore your smile.

All-on-4 vs Traditional Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium posts that act as artificial tooth roots to support dentures and other restorations. Implants are the only dentistry procedure that can stop and prevent the jawbone atrophy that occurs with tooth loss.

For patients missing all of their natural teeth along an arch, dentures can restore oral health, function, and appearance. However, traditional implant-supported dentures require about six to eight implants and strong jawbone density to restore a full arch. If you suffer from jawbone deterioration, you may not qualify for traditional dental implants without a bone graft.

Enter the All-on-4 procedure. Using the All-on-4 method, our Los Algodones dentists can place a denture supported by just four implants. Two of these dental implants are strategically placed at 45-degree angles to maximize the existing bone material

Take a Look at How All-on-4 Implants are Placed

During your All-on-4 treatment at our Los Algodones dental practice, your dentist will place four implants along an arch. They will then attach abutments to each dental implant. This allows your custom denture to be secured to the implants.

Benefits of All-on-4 Dental Implants

The All-on-4 method of dental implant placement has several benefits, including:

Restored Oral Function

Dental implants and custom restorations can restore your oral function, allowing you to eat the foods you love and speak with confidence. There is no risk of your dentures slipping as they are secured directly to the implants.

Restored Appearance

Missing teeth can be embarrassing and cause you to hide your smile. With All-on-4 dental implants and a beautiful denture, you can smile confidently once again.

Faster Recovery

Because fewer implants are needed for All-on-4 treatment, recovering from the procedure is typically faster than traditional implant placement.

Immediate Placement

In some cases, we can place a temporary denture on the day of implant placement so you can enjoy a restored smile faster while your permanent dentures are being crafted.

Concerned About Costs?

We pride ourselves on providing advanced, experienced care at affordable prices. Our Los Algodones dental clinic provides All-on-4 dental implants and custom restorations at a fraction of the price of care in the United States.

To further help, we accept most insurance providers and we also accept CareCredit® to finance your treatment into monthly payments.

Candidates for All-on-4 Dental Implants

While All-on-4 is a great dental treatment option for many patients, not everyone is a candidate. You may be a candidate if you:

Are Missing Most or All of Your Natural Teeth

The All-on-4 method of implant placement is meant to restore a full arch. This means patients who are missing a few teeth are not a candidate. However, they may still qualify for other types of implant-supported restorations, such as crowns

Have Sufficient Existing Bone Material

Though the All-on-4 method does help patients with some level of bone loss qualify for implant placement without bone grafts, you still must have sufficient bone material. For patients with moderate to severe jawbone deterioration, you may still need a bone graft or sinus lift before implant placement.

Have Good Oral Health

You must be in good oral health and free from gum disease and tooth decay. This is to ensure a healthy foundation for your dental implants. Our Los Algodones dentistry practice offers comprehensive dental care in order to help you qualify for implants.

Do Not Use Tobacco

Tobacco is not only bad for your overall health, but your oral health, too. Tobacco use has been linked to a higher rate of implant failure. It is best that you stop smoking or using other tobacco products before your implant procedure.

Have the Right Arch Width

Patients with a wider arch may need five or six implants to ensure their denture has enough support. Our dentists will determine the number of dental implants right for your needs during your consultation.

All-on-4 Timeline

Consultation

During your initial consultation at our Los Algodones practice, your dentist will examine your mouth to determine if All-on-4 dental implants are right for you.

Anesthesia

Before your treatment begins, the area will be numbed. We also offer sedation options for a higher level of comfort.

Implant Placement

A small incision is made in the gums before the implants are inserted into the jaw. We use surgical guides for precise placement. An abutment is then added to the implant.

Temporary Denture

In many cases, your dentist can place a temporary denture, allowing you to enjoy a restored smile immediately.

Permanent Denture

Once your permanent denture is ready, your dentist will remove the temporary denture and secure your permanent denture to the implants.

Have questions?

"I have and will continue to recommend St. Thomas dental. I can think of only one other dental office over the years that compared with the care provided, so often it seems that your viewed more like an ATM machine than a patient these days. Not so at St. Thomas. I truly appreciate the work provided and how comfortable Dr. Pelayo and his staff made me feel. Thank you" Brian Simpson
